Personal Message
You've been wanting to learn to play guitar or come back to it for a while now but don't know where to start? Learn what you want to play with a tailor made programme based on your taste, your pace and your time. First lesson free.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Rock, Pop and Folk with Blues, Funk and Soul.
Some basic music theory and sight-reading are part of every programme but we start from scratch, so no previous knowledge is expected. We only do as much theory as is necessary, more if you want, we can also include harmony, improvisation and elements of song-writing for those interested.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BMus in Music Performance and Production from Middlesex University, as well a a 4-year certificate in Jazz Studies from the American School of Modern Music in Paris.
What kind of experience do you have?
I've been teaching for the past 10 years. My students, all ages, have come from many different musical backgrounds. Some used to play the piano or a classical instrument when younger but now want to play the guitar for fun, some play classical guitar but wish to learn the electric or learn popular styles. Some are young and starting on their musical education. A great many have been toying with the idea of learning guitar but have only got around to learning 3 chords and wish to take things further and many are complete beginners but not afraid to give it a go! I enjoy teaching complete beginners, young and old, as well as people who've been playing for a while, since every pupil is different, every programme is different, we'll only do what you want to do, as much as you want, at your pace. Finding the right tutor is key to your success, which is why I offer you the chance to try my unique programme for free, no obligation to continue if it's not for you.

CHILDREN

Having your children learn a musical instruments is a vital skill that will help them develop cognitive capabilities far beyond music. It is proven that students who have musical training do better at core subjects, as well as being more fluent socially and more capable at building relationships, they make more and better friends. Put perhaps more importantly, playing music is a lot of fun!

ADULTS

Alright, enough with the excuses, right? You've been thinking and talking about learning the guitar since you were a teenager, you even got a guitar but never got started. Or you perhaps did get started many years ago but then life got in the way and you put the guitar aside, or you learnt the basics on your own but then hit a brick wall and just didn't know how to get further. Worry not, we've all been there, it's really difficult to break that barrier on your own. Finding a tutor that understands where YOU want to go, and builds a programme around YOU and your time, your taste, your level, instead of applying a blanket programme that works for 'the average' student is of vital importance to you, keep looking until you find the right tutor for you (even if that's not me!). No one is average, by definition, and my job is to make sure you get every penny's worth of great guitar teaching that takes you further along your path efficiently and most importantly, having a lot of fun in the process!
