About Anna
- What kind of experience do you have?
My teaching experience is predominantly in Lower Key Stage 2, though I have also taught in Key Stage 1 and Upper Key Stage 2. I have vast experience in differentiating learning for a range of abilities and have taught a number of children with English as an Additional Language.
I am experienced in planning intervention programmes for pupils who require more support in making progress, using programmes such as Precision Monitoring, Hornet Literacy Primer, Fisher Family Trust Write Away Together and Catch Up Numeracy. I have taught many able and gifted pupils and am able to challenge pupils to work at greater depth within their age range as well as accelerating learning where appropriate.
In my most recent role as School Improvement Leader (2015-16), I taught on the Astra Alliance Outstanding Teachers Programme (OTP), aimed at enabling teachers who are currently identified as 'good' to develop and refine their practice, so it is consistently outstanding. I am a Level 1 trained swimming teacher and have undertaken training as an employee of Buckinghamshire County Council in Safeguarding Children and the Prevent Agenda.
I carried out a research project on Assessment for Learning for my undergraduate dissertation and more recently I have worked as part of the leadership team in developing assessment strategies (marking and feedback, formative assessment and summative assessment) in line with the New Curriculum.
I have attended two courses on Talk for Writing delivered by Babcock Education and have had handwriting training from the Buckinghamshire County Council Occupational Therapy Service. I also have experience in Assessing Without Levels in line with the New National Curriculum and have been involved in moderating end of KS2 Writing as part of my school leadership team.

In my career so far, I have taught pupils from a vast array of different backgrounds with a range of strengths and interests. I have had the pleasure of seeing many children flourish whilst in my class, developing as a person as well as achieving well academically.

I am a fully qualified and highly skilled Primary Teacher with a proven track record of outstanding teaching and pupil progress in both London and South Bucks.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am experienced in teaching the National Curriculum for England and Wales up to the end of Key Stage Two (age 11).
I tutor all National Curriculum subjects, particularly Writing, Reading Comprehension, Phonics, Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG), Mathematics and Handwriting. I have an excellent understanding of the New Curriculum requirements, having taught full time in the UK since 2012.
I am also able to tutor pupils in preparation for the 11+ examination. I have a particular passion for teaching English and also enjoy helping children develop their mental calculation strategies.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BA (Hons) in Primary Teacher Education with QTS (2:1), with a specialism in Special Educational Needs. I completed the Early Leadership Programme at the UCL Institute of Education (world leading research centre for education) in 2013.
- How much do you charge?
My hourly rate is £40ph, with an additional charge of 40p per mile for any travel over 5 miles from my home in Chiswick. This rate includes the detailed planning and preparation time required for me to ensure learning is personalised so your child makes maximum progress during sessions.

South Bucks: Beaconsfield, Seer Green, Amersham, Penn, Loudwater, Woburn Green, Flackwell Heath, Gerrards Cross, The Chalfonts.
- When are you available?
London: Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday dependent on commitments in South Bucks)
South Bucks: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach primary age children from 5-11 years. EYFS, KS1 and KS2 including 11+ exam preparation.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
End of Key Stage 1 SATs and end of Key Stage 2 SATs, 11+ examinations.

I believe that the pupil-teacher relationship is vital for success and correlates directly with the amount of progress your child makes. I therefore work very hard to build positive relationships with my pupils to ensure they develop and maintain a love of learning in a safe, fun and progress driven environment.
