- Do you have a personal message for students?

During my years as a student, I've learned that there are two ingredients to exam success: 1) time investment 2) adopting a tactical approach. My sessions encompass both of these, and can be briefly summarised as follows:

First Session: We'll work out your strengths and weaknesses, your preferred learning style, and set our goals

Subsequent sessions:

* At the beginning, our focus will be to iron out the areas that you find the most challenging. The benefit of one-to-one study is that we can do this using your preferred learning style, at a pace that suits you.

*Progress will be followed up with some homework, to maximise its impact

*We will improve your exam technique, looking at ways to make the most of the time you have, and considering which questions will get you the most marks

*As a trainee doctor, I'm required to memorise large volumes of information. I've had to develop a number of tricks to do this, which have saved me a lot of time. We can look at these techniques, and work out which ones will help you do the same.

* We'll need to do some practice papers to see how you're progressing. These will be done under timed conditions, to give you an idea of the pace of the exam.

*I want to make my sessions a safe space, where you know you can ask any question, or admit if you don't understand, without feeling judged.
