BSc in Business Management (King's College London)
MA in Creative Writing (City Universtiy, London) - distinction
What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 15 years of teaching business and management at university level, helping students to study and even enjoy subjects that they are finding difficult or need some extra help with.

I have tutored Bachelors and Masters students from the following universities, who have subsequently achieved top grades:

London School of Economics
King's College London
Cass Business School
Queen Mary University London
University College London
London Metropolitan University

I also tutor two ACA papers - Case Study and Business Strategy. I teach these papers at a leading training centre, and have great results from my students.

I have also marked extensively at university level, so I know what is expected and can help students by offering mock exam setting and marking, feedback, and assistance with dissertations. I can read through what you have done, look at it in relation to the pass/merit/distinction criteria for your university and tell you what you need to do to improve your mark.

As a former MBA Director, I have a very clear idea of the admissions process for many of the top universities and employers, and have helped with writing CVs, applications, LinkedIn profiles, etc.

Most importantly, I have a lot of experience in making difficult subjects engaging and even enjoyable! I try to find out what my students are interested in and help them come up with ways to remember theories and examples that make sense for them.
How much do you charge?
I charge £100 per hour.
My dissertation/coursework/exam reading/marking rates are negotiated in line with the piece of work, the amount of work required, what type of support students need.
I am happy to offer a free telephone or Skype consultation before you decide if you would like me to tutor you.
Where do you teach?
I teach mainly online.

If face to face, I tend to teach in public spaces, such as quiet cafes that are close to the tube stations, etc. I know lots of good places in the North/East London area which work well for tutoring and are convenient for students to get to.

The areas that I cover are: City of London, Angel, Islington, Highbury, Hackney, Harringey. I will travel further by request but there may be a charge for my travelling time. Please ask for details.
When are you available?
I'm fairly flexible in terms of when I'm available. I can usually offer a time between 10am and 3pm during the week, and then after 6pm in the evenings. I don't tend to work weekends, but will as a one-off if you are having an emergency.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I mainly teach BSc and MSc level, but can teach A-Level on request. I also teach the Case Study and Business Strategy papers on the ICAEW ACA qualification.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ICAEW ACA Case Study and Business Strategy papers
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
No. I haven't ever needed one as I work mainly with those who are over 18 and always meet in coffee shops, etc. However, if you are interested in a number of sessions and this is an important requirement for you, please let me know as I can definitely arrange to have one!
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I tend to use Skype as we can then share our workspace, but if you have a preference for something else, then please do ask and I can try to help.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I've just finished tutoring a student from Queen Mary who needed help with a Research Methods 2nd year module.

I'm helping someone with their dissertation, which they're focusing on gender representation in management. It's really tricky material but they're doing a good job of figuring it out.

I'm writing some mock questions for a student studying a leadership module and providing online feedback on their answers.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I have very wide-ranging experience and good knowledge of a broad spread of management, leadership and strategy subjects. If you are struggling to find a tutor for that tricky subject, I may well be able to help. I am friendly, approachable and get very good feedback on my ability to convey difficult concepts. I try to bring learning to life with great examples, videos, etc., so that you feel more engaged with what you are learning.

I really love tutoring and making a difference to people, so if you think there is something I could help you with, please let me know.
