I'm a friendly, passionate and encouraging teacher with 10 years of teaching experience from complete beginners to advanced players and those at the beginning of their professional careers.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in teaching violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano (beginner to intermediate only) and music theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I'm a conservatoire trained violinist with a BMus(Hons) in Violin Performance from Birmingham Conservatoire. I also have an MA in Musicology from Cardiff University.

I am also a woodwind specialist and have grade 8 in flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano.
What kind of experience do you have?
Having been trained at a conservatoire I have a very wide range of musical experience. This includes music theory, solo performance, chamber music, and orchestral playing. I've been fortunate enough to perform at some of the world's greatest concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, and to have recieved tuition and masterclasses from numerous world class violinists.

With regards to teaching experience, I've been teaching privately for ten years and also taught violin in a secondary school for a year. Additionally, I worked as a violin mentor for the students of the Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department and taught classroom music lessons in a Bristol primary school.

I have also achieeved a Masters degree in Musicology. Primarily I specialise in historical performance practice and the historical development of the violin between 1550-today, and have written a book on this topic.
