About Hetti

- What kind of experience do you have?

As a performer i am known as a soloist, chamber musician and continuo player. Whilst studying at the Birmingham Conservatoire, i won every prize available, including the Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music Prize, the Derek Young Memorial Award for Chamber Music, the Birmingham Symphony Hall Prize, The Leamington Music Club Prize, The Corton Hyde Early Music Prize, The Ambache Prize, the Birmingham Conservatoire Strings Prize, the Doris Newton Club Prize, the John Ireland Prize, and the Birmingham Conservatoire Concerto Prize. After i graduated, i was asked to return the following year to do a Junior Fellowship, which involved teaching and mentoring the students.

I regularly perform at differing venues across the UK, which include intimate chamber venues as well as larger establishments such as The Southbank Centre in London, Birmingham Town Hall, Sheffield Town Hall and the Warwick Arts Centre. I am a member of The Hepplewhite Piano Trio, who i will be recording with in the forthcoming year for Convivium Records, and have been asked to do a tour a tour of China with. As soloist i have performed on BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune', and have performed with several professional orchestras, including a tour of China with The Orchestra of the Swan.

I have an interest in historical performance, so as well as the cello, i also play the baroque and classical cellos, the viola da gamba and tenor viol, the bass violin and the arpeggione. I am currently involved in researching the bass violin and its role in England.

I am a cellist with several years performing and teaching experience. I teach both children and adults from beginner to advanced standard. I believe that everyone is an individual and learns in different ways, and my teaching style reflects this.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I have an interest in historical performance, so as well as the cello I can also teach the baroque cello and beginner viol players. I specialise in chamber music and enjoy coaching chamber groups.

I charge £45 per hour, £30 for half an hour or £37.50 for 45 minutes.
