I'm looking for enthusiastic students who want regular lessons for enjoyment or for exams. Having recently moved to Withington, I'm looking for new victims - please get in touch! www.amyjolly.co.uk
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical cello but I can also help with music theory. I'm quite happy to help with whatever you want to achieve including exams, auditions, help with orchestral parts and theory tests. I also offer a practice-supervision service - this can be invaluable support for parents who are bewildered by their childs practice!
Tell me about your qualifications.
MA (with distinction) and DipRAM for outstanding final recital, both awarded from the Royal Academy of Music. LRAM teaching certificate. BMus from the Royal Danish Academy of Music. String Leadership Diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught privately for many years, teaching students ranging from young children to 80 year old amateurs. I have been a teacher for Wandsworth Music Service, Oxford Cello School and Wells Cathedral School.
How much do you charge?
I charge £30 per hour or £25 for 45 minutes. If your child is very young, we can consider 30 minute lessons.
Where do you teach?
At home in Withington. I can come to you if necessary, but I do charge for petrol and time.
When are you available?
I'm a freelance musician so it's very likely we can find a time to suit both of us. My schedule varies so it might not always be possible to teach at exactly the same time every week.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have taught groups and individuals of all ages and I'm happy to work with any level.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I usually enter students for ABRSM exams but if you prefer, I'm more than happy to try Trinity exams. Preparation up to diploma level.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes.
Where and with whom did you train?
Bjorn Bantock: pre-higher education Jakob Kullberg: Royal Danish Academy of Music Valter Despalj: Zagreb Academy of Music Josephine Knight: Royal Academy of Music; Current: Nick Trygstad.
