Hello everyone, I am a physics Batchelors and Masters graduate from Northern Ireland. I intend to carry out tutoring for this academic year before starting a PhD in September 2011. I am available for tutoring between 29 November and 15 December inclusive and from 5 January until the A-Level exams.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I have good knowledge of the A-level specifications for physics. I can also help A-Level physics students who are having problems with aspects of mathematics A-Level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have A-levels at A grade in mathematics and physics, and won a prize for the best result in A-Level mathematics at my school (Rathmore Grammar School, one of the top grammar schools in Northern Ireland). I went on to get a First class honours degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics at Queen's University in Belfast (a Russell Group University) and subsequently a Masters degree from the same institution.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20 per hour for any of the locations I have listed. My first lesson for new students is £10.
- Where do you teach?
I am prepared to travel to all the postcodes listed in my profile at no extra cost. Also I can arrange skype chat/email.
- When are you available?
I am available every weekday evening and weekend afternoons.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
AS/A2 students.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I welcome either full A-Level students or those undertaking the qualification to AS-Level only.

Online tutoring can be arranged if necessary when we meet.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Despite studying physics to postgraduate level, I have great enthusiasm for introducing people to the incredible excitement and everyday relevance of the subject. I am familiar with many of its applications for electricity generation, astronomy, medicine and many other fields which put the subject in context.
