Personal Message
Hello and welcome to my Tutor Pages site! If you are interested in taking up singing lessons then please don't hesitate to contact me. I am a friendly, kind singing teacher living and working in and around Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Classical Singing, Pop and Musical Theatre.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Bachelors of Music Degree from Cardiff University.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am a trained Singing Teacher and Music tutor, living and working in and around Malmesbury, Wiltshire. I studied Music at Cardiff University majoring in Voice and Musical Analysis. As a singer I have performed with the Welsh National Chorus and The Welsh National Youth Opera. I have also toured around the world to New York, Prague and Hong Kong as a Lead Vocalist for a Jazz Band. I have also done several short courses in Music Therapy and have applied this into my work within schools.

For the past 11 years Connie has taught both whole class music lessons and private music lessons to children and adults. She offers singing lessons, children's piano lessons (grade 1-4) and music tutoring for all abilities and ages in a wonderful music room at my home in Lea, Malmesbury. Lessons can also be arranged at pupils homes providing there is a keyboard or piano. I teach a variety of singing styles, which include; Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Classical pieces. I have entered pupils into the ABRSM, Trinity College of Music and London College of Music examinations in Classical, Musical Theatre and Popular Voice. As well as teaching privately at pupils homes and at her house Connie also works in Crudwell Primary School and at Sir William Romney School in Tetbury.
How much do you charge?
20 minutes = £10

Where do you teach?
I teach either at my home in my self equipped music room or am happy to travel to pupils' houses if they have a keyboard or piano available.

I am happy to start teaching pupils from the age of 7 when their voices are beginning to develop and strengthen. I am happy to teach children at 5 for piano lessons.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If the pupil is keen then I can prepare them for Classical ABRSM Exams, Trinity and London School of Music Pop and Musical Theatre Exams. I have a 100% pass mark across all examinations.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an up to date DBS and CRB Certificate.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I belong to the Musicians Union.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained with Mezzo Soprano Louise Mott and then with Mezzo Soprano Helen Knight at Cardiff University.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach 40 pupils ranging from 7- 40 years old. I enter my students for singing examinations and festivals if they wish to do so. I will also put on concerts for my students throughout the academic year.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am a warm, friendly singing teacher who enjoys all things musical; believing that truly anyone and everyone can enjoy singing. I love seeing how singing can help even the shyest of pupils come out of their shells and gain valuable confidence.

With the expansion of my business this year I built a specialised music room within my home and have given my business the name CSJ Music. I teach a mixture of children and adults here at my home in Lea and at pupils homes. If you would like to give it go then why not contact me to have a chat to see if I can be of help.
