Personal Message
I am a Soprano from Perth, Western Australia, currently based and working as a freelance musician and voice teacher in London. I offer vocal coaching for those who want to gain more understanding, and a basic knowledge of vocal technique.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in classical vocal technique and use this as a basis for all vocal genres. I address breath, vocal range, head/chest voice, intonation, resonance, vocal health and musicianship. Every student has different goals so I adapt my approach according to their individual needs and desires.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Certificate II in Musical Theatre, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2008. Perth, WA.
Diploma of Dance, Koninklijk Conservatorium in 2009/10. Den Haag, The Netherlands.
Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts 2011-13. Perth, WA.
Graduate Diploma in Opera Performance, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts 2014. Perth, WA.
Masters of Music in Vocal Performance, Guildhall School of Music and Drama 2015-17. London, UK.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have extensive training and performance experience in musical theatre and opera, working professionally in both Australia and the UK. I enjoyed four years of teaching in my studio in Perth, Western Australia. I have helped my students achieve successful auditions into the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra Chorus as well as preparation for University/Conservatory entrance auditions.
How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour which includes travel to and from lessons and necessary teaching materials including sheet music, backing tracks etc.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my home studio in West Hampstead, but most of my teaching is based in central London at my students' homes. I have a portable keyboard that I can travel if the student does not have a piano at their home.
When are you available?
I am available to teach most weekday afternoon/evenings and weekends. My timetable is flexible!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
No.
Do you have a personal message for students?
One of my greatest passions is teaching and although my focus is a healthy vocal technique I will always encourage my students to enjoy the process. I really look forward to hearing from you and helping you on your singing journey!
