What kind of experience do you have?
I first started offering private GCSE maths tuition around 20 years ago whilst researching my PhD. I found it to be very rewarding, and quickly realised that I could make a real difference to my pupil's exam grades.

I taught mathematically based subjects as a senior university lecturer for 7 years prior to offering private maths tuition on a full-time basis. Whilst teaching at university I often taught those students that struggled with their maths, and so over time, I developed effective techniques for helping pupils overcome their fear of maths.

I explain the often abstract concepts of maths using easy to understand jargon-free language and have a relaxed and informal approach to tuition. This helps to create a no-pressure environment where students do not feel judged and are able to feel comfortable asking questions.

As an author and marker of exam scripts I have the experience to help my students to approach their own exams in a more effective manner. I have also worked for the Open University and so am experienced with the concept of distance and e-learning and so also offer online tuition.
