What kind of experience do you have?
I have been working professionally since I was 14/15 starting with bass guitar. Since then I have played in many different situations, functions, big bands, as a session musician, theatre pits, indie bands, folk groups, orchestras and as a chamber musician (variety is the spice of life). I have performed with Alison Moyet, Professor green, Scott Hamilton, Nik Bartsch and for many different musical theatre pits, including the UK tour of Mary Poppins. I have played at some notable venues including Ronnie Scott's, the Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan hall and the London Palladium. Whilst at college I was privileged enough to have played principle position in all classical ensembles at Trinity Laban.

When I was lucky enough to be awarded places on both the jazz and classical undergraduate courses with a full scholarship, and I undertook a joint path of study, where I crossed between the two departments. I was as active in the classical department playing in symphony orchestra projects, string ensembles and chamber ensembles as I was for Jazz combos and classes. This bespoke course gave me an in depth study of jazz improvisation, tunes, feel and harmony as well as orchestral discipline, repertoire, sight reading and ensemble playing.

Since living in London for the past 6 years I have built up a career as a session bassist as well as constantly performing; being in demand on both bass guitar and double bass. Along side my playing career I have been steadily teaching and believe my wealth of performance experience gives me a lot to offer my students. Recently I also became publisher of the Bottesini Urtext edition, bringing accurate manuscripts of bottesini's music as part of my passion to bring better learning resources to the bass community.
