Personal Message
I am a freelance double bass and bass guitar player living in North East London.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical and jazz double bass covering areas such as general technique - basic to advanced - as well as musicianship. We can work on various styles of music including classical, jazz, folk, world music and pop. I can also offer lessons on bass guitar. I also focus on improvising in different styles of music.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed my undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, where I studied Jazz and Classical Double Bass. I finished in 2015, graduating with Honours.
I also completed a Higher Diploma in Music Performance at Leeds College of Music which I finished in 2012.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have professional experience playing many different projects and groups, owing to the versatility of the Double Bass. I have toured with my own projects regularly in Europe, and also to the USA.
I recently completed a tour of Japan which was supported by the Arts Council, and performed with Japanese musicians there.
How much do you charge?
I charge £30 for an hour, and £15 for 30 minutes.
Where do you teach?
I can teach from my home, or travel within reason. Around East and North London as well as parts of Essex are easy for me to travel to.
When are you available?
I have a flexible schedule, which changes a lot, so it is possible to organise lessons that suit both of us.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I enjoy teaching all ages, children and adults, and from beginners up to advanced students.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the ISM
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music.
