I try to encourage my tutees. I work closely with them, identifying topics for which they need help and providing plenty of examples for them to practise on.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach mathematics and statistics.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BSc in Maths II-(1) at University of Leeds, a MSc in Statistics at University of Sheffield and a PhD in Statistics at University of Newcastle.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have a City and Guilds certificate for Numeracy in adult education. I have about 30 years experience in giving 'one to one' tuition.
How much do you charge?
For GCSE maths I charge £75 for a block of four one hour lessons and for A-Level maths I charge £80 for a block of four one hour lessons booked on advance.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my home or at the student's home and I am prepared to travel up to 30 miles.
When are you available?
I am generally available all day on Mondays, Tuesdays, up to 7pm on Wednesdays, all day Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level and maths and statistics that form part of engineering or economics degrees. I also teach statistics for a degree course.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE and A-Level.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I use Skype.

When you meet your tutor for the first time please be patient as it may take 3 or 4 lessons for your tutor to get to know you.
