Personal Message
I'm Rob and I'm a kind, friendly teacher with 10 years experience of teaching English. With me, you can be sure that I will develop your language skills in a professional, efficient, reliable way. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English as a Foreign Language, with a specialism in IELTS/Cambridge exam preparation and English for Academic Purposes. This especially focuses on essay writing, but also includes any other skills you need for studying at university in an English-speaking country.
I can also teach Business English, Conversation and Pronunciation, TOEFL, General English and English for Specific Purposes (this could be anything from Legal English to Military English).
Tell me about your qualifications.
MA in Applied Linguistics from King's College, London
Cambridge DELTA from University College London (UCL)
Trinity Cert TESOL from University of Sussex
BA in English Literature from University of Sussex
What kind of experience do you have?
I am very experienced with teaching students of all levels, ages and from many different nationalities. I have also had a lot of experience in teaching one-to-one, and every session will be tailored to suit each learner's individual needs.
How much do you charge?
My hourly rate is £35 with no travel fee. If you would like to learn with a friend, the rate is £30 each per hour.
Where do you teach?
I usually travel to the student's home, office or a neutral venue.
When are you available?
Monday - Friday: after 5pm
Saturday: 9am-5pm

I'm very flexible. Please contact me to discuss when is best for you to learn.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and levels from beginners to advanced learners.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
IELTS, Cambridge English exams, TOEFL
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can provide Skype/Facetime lessons, which are discounted to £30 an hour. If you are based in another country, then this is a great way to prepare for your IELTS exam.
Where and with whom did you train?
Most recently, I completed a Master's at King's College London, where I received a Distinction (80%). Before that, I completed the Diploma in English Language Teaching (DELTA) at University College London (UCL) on which I also received Distinctions.
