Certificate in Education (Primary) with French, gained at the Froebel Institute, now part of Roehampton University.
Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Berlitz).

I received rigorous training in teaching dyslexic students (using the Lindamood Bell Seeing Stars Programme) over a 3-year period, achieving consultant status in 2008. In addition I have attended numerous short and longer training courses on dyslexia and literacy acquisition skills.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 18 years experience of working in Special Needs Departments at Kay Stages 1 to 3. My area of expertise is in working with dyslexic students from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. I am able to carry out diagnostic assessments if required.
How much do you charge?

Where do you teach?
In my own home in Chiswick during school term time. I live 5 minutes walk from Turnham Green station on the District Line.
When are you available?
Mondays-Thursdays 3.30 - 6.00pm during term time.

Some Easter or summer holidays on request.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Primary KS1 and 2 (ages 6-11).
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes. August 2013.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I understand well how challenging reading and spelling can be. I am able to build a rapport quickly with students and establish a welcoming and calm environment in which they can feel safe to make mistakes and experience success. Regular 1:1 sessions, away from the classroom, can help break down barriers to learning and enhance self-esteem.
