I teach Maths and English.

I have a B. Ed. (Hons) degree from Reading University. and several diplomas, including in Performance Coaching, Special Educational Needs, Educational Psychology and Reading Intervention. I have recently gained an M.Ed. in Advanced Education.
- How much do you charge?

- When are you available?
I currently teach classes on Monday - Thursday. I please contact me to see if my availability suits you.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach maths and English to students aged 5-18 years. I am happy to teach from the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence or from the National Curriculum, having had experience in delivering both. I also tutor international students.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I use a video conferencing tool called Zoom to teach online lessons. This integrated well with every other available resource in my repertoire, including the use of an excellent interactive whiteboard called BitPaper. I am a firm believer in having fun while we work, so I can promise that my lessons will be fun and engaging.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
If you feel you struggle with maths, reading, spelling or writing, I know I can help you to perform better and feel more confident in your own ability. I can make learning fun!
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Elaine makes a difference with each child's knowledge quickly.
Ceola, my daughter has realised 'she's not silly or not paying attention' in the time allowed. Ceola is very proud saying, "I made progress in reading and comprehension in two months"
Elaine has given her the confidence to believe in her ability and a voice of reason to tell her teachers to slow down when needed. (That temporarily was scuppered with everyday normal schooling).
Elaine is a Super Duper Prof !!
P.s. I'm sure Elaine will give me a few tips after this ... comma, full stop..et all etc.
She is able to engage our child. We have had problems with concentration and loss of interest but Elaine’s classes keep him interested and we have seen a great improvement in his reading especially. Would be lost without her help.
Elaine is a great teacher. Great with the kids. My daughter is a nervous unconfident girl. Elaine really helped her understand the work, really brought her on and her confidence grew. I would highly recommend Elaine.
I met Elaine about 3 years ago when my son was struggling at school in particular with maths, spelling and reading comprehension. Elaine assessed him and we had a baseline to work from. He definitely progressed with Elaine's unique way of teaching, he loved the rewards and did well. I would highly recommend Elaine as she has a great insight into children and makes learning fun with great use of technology which kids love
From the start Elaine was friendly towards both my son and I, I had recently removed my son from school through anxiety, bullying and not getting on with starting secondary school so he needed a gentle approach and he himself said after the assessments with Elaine she was the nicest teacher he'd ever had !
Elaine is very accommodating if at the last minute my son isn't in the right head space for a lesson, it is no problem to re-arrange it.
I would highly recommend Elaine.Elaine is friendly and professional. She has an encouraging approach and my son really enjoys the lessons with her and is learning well.
Elaine is such a lovely woman and excellent in what she does would highly recommend her for a child who might need a little extra tutoring in maths or English.
You can't go wrong with Elaine. A brilliant tutor.
Elaine's very good tutor. I highly recommend her. She has helped my daughter out with her maths. Great service.
Can't recommend Elaine highly enough. Works out a plan of action first and goes from there. As a parent it's great to get feedback after every lesson. My son enjoys learning with Elaine.
Amazing online service available & Elaine goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome.
Highly recommendElaine assesses where they need the most work on progresses from there. She provides feedback after all sessions and measurable results every few weeks. I would recommend her to all parents for both children who may struggle in certain areas or a child who needs to catch up.
Elaine is a brilliant teacher and makes learning fun for children.
