Personal Message
Hi! My name is Fernando, I am a professionally-trained music tutor, as well as a performing Classical Pianist. Over the past decade, I have taught students from all ages and abilities, both privately and in music schools across the UK & abroad.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Music: Classical Piano and Music Theory (Grades 1-8).
Languages: Spanish Aural, Spanish Writing, Spanish Literature (GCSE,A-Level or Cambridge Examinations).
Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed a BMus Hons as a Classical Pianist in the Professional Music Conservatory of Melilla, and a BMUS Hons as a Musicologist in the Professional Music Conservatory of Salamanca (Spain). In 2012, I graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (Cardiff) with an MA in Music and Arts Management.

As a Classical Pianist, I have been privileged to receive tuition from the world's most renowned pianists including Luca Chiantore, Breno Ambrosini Leonel Morales, Tom Koopman, Joaquín Achúcarro, Maria Labeque and Josep Colom among others. When time allows it, I perform as a soloist and chamber musician - most recently I took part in the 'Festival De Musica de Avila' (June 2017).
What kind of experience do you have?
For the last decade, I have taught students from all ages and abilities, both privately and in schools.
I am able to follow music examinations such as ABRSM, Trinity Laban or GCSE/A-Level performance tests. In 2017, all of my students achieved Merits and Distinctions.
It is also possible, of course, to follow a 'freer' syllabus without examinations, and I am happy to discuss the different possibilities in which we can make this work in a fun yet structured way.
How much do you charge?
£30/per hour
£20/half an hour

(£25 consultation lesson)
Where do you teach?
I am happy to travel to your home, or wherever you find suitable. Travel is expensive and it takes time, thus I charge an extra £5 to cover the expense.
When are you available?
Monday to Friday after 6:15pm and full availability during weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Music is not about age - so I'm happy to take any student that is willing to work hard with me!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall Grade Exams
GCSE/A Level Music
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes - I am currently in the process of getting a new one.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have had several students abroad, and I'm happy to teach via Skype or FaceTime.
Do you have a personal message for students?
My aim is to always approach piano-learning in a fun and enjoyable way, whilst working hard and being productive with our goals.
I look forward to meeting you!
