About Caroline

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been a teacher in a Specialist Language College near Wakefield for eight years, teaching all levels of languages including Primary, and a private tutor for over 7 years when I decided to tutor from home following the arrival of my daughter. As a teacher I have achieved excellent exam results and introduced Italian to the school as an extra GCSE subject. I am very proud of my students and their achievements. I also work for three distance learning schools and therefore work with different exam boards. It is great to meet students from all over the world and see how much everyone achieves. I am also a consultant for distance learning A-level courses so we know what the students need to make the most of learning out of the classroom.

As part of my PGCE, I taught at schools in North Yorkshire, in Richmond and in Scarborough, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have also experience of teaching adults on both a one-to-one basis and in classes at all levels.

As a tutor, I have gained experience teaching for IB exams and for the different Proficiency exams such as the DALF and IELTS. Students have done well in their exams. Many students have successfully taken additional exams out if school with excellent results and many are adult learners but some have been students who have taken their exams early than at the usual time in school.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes and I am more than happy to show this to students. Please do not hesitate to ask.

- Where and with whom did you train?

University of York 2004 and I trained at schools in Scarborough and Richmond in North Yorkshire.

I gained Qualified Teacher Status at 'A Specialist Language College' near Wakefield.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I am immensely proud of all the hard work my students put into lessons and although all are at different levels and ages, they are making excellent progress and follow the given advice well. I am pleased to say that mock exam results have been high this year for the new exams so I am very pleased with how well my students have worked.

Last year they achieved excellent results and keep working hard. It is wonderful to see how many flourish with plenty of support. Also, I would like to say a huge well-done to my adult learners who have taken exams or made excellent progress in lessons. The results have been amazing and I am a very happy tutor. What more could I ask for!
