I teach a Student in his Forties who had a Stroke a few years ago,so this adds a few complexities which we are managing to work around, but he really enjoys it.
I have two Ladies in there Seventies who share a lesson and learn the Ukelele, this is rather a nice lesson because they bring me home made baking lol :)
I also Teach a 13 year old Boy with Asperger's Syndrome.
I got Students who have broke there fingers many times and with minor alterations can play very well.

All wanting to learn different Styles and Techniques, its a good Therapy as well as an Excellent Education.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Set yourself goals just like if your out Jogging or Cycling,it gives you something to aim for in each practice session.
If you know any Scales, use them as a warm up and your practice will go a lot smoother and be less frustrating.
If things are not going well in practice, come back to it later. We all have bad days!!!

Learning an Instrument should not be rushed into, you will need to make changes to your routine to allow for practicing, and then you will be able to get on a roll!!! with your practice and you will see the improvement.

If you practice for a couple of days then leave it for a few you will find its like starting again and it will look like your getting nowhere fast.

Discipline and Routine are big things where learning to play are concerned.
Now that i have put you off, please feel free to contact me if you need a bit of help playing your Guitar.:)
