Personal Message
I am professor of flute at the Lady Eleanor Holles School. My lessons are engaging and fun and I try to vary my approach and teaching style to suit each student.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the flute.
I also teach piano up to grade 5 level and am very happy to combine the two in my lessons.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a first class degree from the Royal Academy of Music. I am also currently completing my LRAM teaching qualification.
What kind of experience do you have?
After my studies at the RAM, I spent a year in Bordeaux, France, studying, teaching and playing. I now work as a freelance flautist in London and have performed with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, BBC Concert Orchestra and the RPO. I have performed solo recitals at venues including The Royal Festival Hall and the Scottish Parliament. Competition successes include winning the Royal Academy of Music Flute Competition.

I have 10 years private teaching experience and have worked with English Touring Opera, Wigmore Hall Learning and Open Academy delivering music workshops for the community.
How much do you charge?
£40 p/h. If it is necessary to travel to students, there may be an added expense to cover this depending on how far it is.
Where do you teach?
Twickenham, Richmond, Strawberry Hill, Kew, Teddington. I will travel to you depending on how far away it is.
When are you available?
I'm flexible. It doesn't have to be the same time each week either, I am happy to work around a busy schedule. If a students needs to cancel a lesson, I ask that they give 24 hours' notice.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I love to teach all different ages and levels!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I generally use the ABRSM syllabus but am familiar with the other examination bodies as well.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Where and with whom did you train?
Studied at the Royal Academy of Music, I also spent a year in Bordeaux, France studying at the Pole Superior de Musique et Danse.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning an instrument can be the start of a truly exciting journey and a wonderful way to challenge yourself. I encourage students to get out there and go to concerts, give your ears a treat and allow yourself to be inspired. This will feed your development as a musician and will help you find your unique musical voice.
