I am a Masters qualified IT professional with over 30 years experience in industry applying computing to commercial, industrial and public sector applications. I am also a STEM Ambassador (East region).
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Computer Science to the new curriculum on all examining boards including the Cambridge International.
Tell me about your qualifications.
MSc Computer Science, Certified IT Professional with the British Computer Society, MSc level modules from the Open University in Java and Object Oriented programming, various training courses from both public and private sector employment.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have the benefit of both practical and theoretical knowledge of the application of computers (in the widest term) ranging from low level embedded processors through to multinational web applications handling many millions of transactions per day.
How much do you charge?
Hourly charges are from £25 through to £30 depending upon the level.
Where do you teach?
I am happy to work at the student's home or can accommodate a student at my home address in Leighton Buzzard (near Milton Keynes and Aylesbury and Luton). I can travel up to 20 miles provided some contribution to travel costs can be agreed.
When are you available?
I am available at most times as I am now semi-retired. I am not available at weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Anyone from 11 upwards.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE and A Level.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an up to date DBS certificate and I also have a very high level of security clearance from the UK government.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have Skype, and a dedicated location free from disruptions with a high speed internet access.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a Corporate member of the British Computer Society (CITP) and take part in their evening meetings for the Software practice Advancement Group.
Where and with whom did you train?
British Civil Service (10 years), as well as various specialist training on both technology and management topics over the past 30 years.

I am tutoring online an A level student in South Africa.

I can offer my enthusiasm and deep knowledge of this subject gained in the wider world to guide and assist tutees.
