Personal Message
Hello, my name is Ian and I am a guitar teacher offering one to one lessons in Chichester. I use up to date teaching methods, using the songs you want to play as a way of learning. The guitar is a fun experience that everyone should be able to enjoy!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach students all aspects of the guitar via the student's song choices. This includes a mix of theory, technical ability, aural perception, musicianship and more, with the choice of taking grades and learning to read music if required.

What kind of experience do you have?
I play in numerous bands here in Chichester, including the Tom Belbin Trio, a successful jazz trio that plays regularly all over the country. I have been playing for close to 20 years, and have a BMus and MMus in music performance. I have played in front of large audiences of well over 500 people at a time, with members of the rizzle kicks, scouting for girls and more. I have headlined my own concerts and have performed in every setting imaginable. I have recorded my own compositions and have extensive knowledge of songwriting.

I have been teaching for 6 years, including spending a year in New Zealand teaching and playing. I teach at Chichester College, have taught for band workshops all over the south coast, and have put students right through their grades with 100% success rate to date.
How much do you charge?
£15 for 30 minutes
£25 for 1 hour
Where do you teach?
At my home in Chichester city center. I teach from home as it allows me to use all of my resources i.e books, computer etc, and allows me to offer more teaching hours as I have no commuting time. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons, and I am fully DBS checked.
