Where and with whom did you train?
For voice and acting, I trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Bristol Old Vic. My course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama included a strong Speech and vocal therapy element.

I am also keen on continuing professional development to keep up to date with standards and new thought. I regularly attend workshops at colleges and at LAMDA. I am also interested in vocal anatomy and health. I receive an increasing number of enquiries about 'accent clearing' which is a very interesting area.
Tell me about some of your current students.
Public Speaking
============

I have recently given a series of workshops on Presentation and Public Speaking at a well-known medical college. We took an informal route into areas which even eminent consultants find difficult. We looked at projection, speed of speech, articulation, physical mannerisms and relaxation. Our end goal was to allow the personality and natural charm of each speaker to shine through!

My Public Speaking students come from the business and legal world. The voice can easily become fatigued and then lack efficacy. As a result, our message can become muddled and not reach our audience to maximum effect. As live presentations have become an increasing large component of the interview process, this element of public speaking can also be a concern for many.

Accent Reduction
=============

I am working more and more with people who wish to alter their accent and the way that they speak English. Many are nationals from other countries and others are tackling regional accents from the UK. It seems to be communication at work, job interviews and presentations that motivate people to want to modify an accent. The great thing is that people actually enjoy the classes, as I try to choose interesting exercises and texts. I can also give further information on how I work with accent reduction, upon request.

Acting
=====

My Acting students are very diverse. As I work with all age groups, I am preparing children and adults for acting, verse-speaking and devising examinations for LAMDA and Trinity Guildhall.

In addition, I have adults preparing their audition pieces for drama school auditions.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I an expert teacher and work with both recognised technique and structure. I prefer to tailor my lessons around my students' individual needs.

I am a sympathetic and careful teacher, able to tackle issues of vocal damage, lack of confidence and shyness. My aim is to allow each speaker's personality to shine through and enhance whatever they are speaking about. We do have fun, as well in the class!
