About Kris
- What kind of experience do you have?
I teach in a number of schools and music services across London and Oxfordshire. In chronological order:
- New College School, Oxford, September 2018 - present.
- North Bridge House, London, January 2017 - present.
- Moulsford Preparatory School, Oxfordshire, September 2017 - present.
- Ealing Music Service, London, September 2017 - present.
- Wandsworth Schools' Music Service, London, May 2017 - present.

As well as school teaching, I have over seven years experience teaching privately, working with students of all ages and abilities, ranging from age six to adults. I pride myself on tailoring each lesson to my student's individual needs.
I have performed professionally with the Philharmonia Orchestra as Guest Principal flute, and as Second flute with the Ulster Orchestra. I have also worked alongside the London Sinfonietta and the Nash Ensemble of London, as part of the Academy's side-by-side projects. I have recorded professionally, including working with Oliver Knussen and the Royal Academy of Music's Manson Ensemble, on a recording for Linn Records.

- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Sam Coles (2012-2016), and Karen Jones (2012-2014). I also studied annually at the summer master-classes with Sir James Galway (2007-2013).

I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

I want to share my passion, knowledge and experience of teaching the flute with you. I want to encourage you to make music, and I want to see you reach your potential!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the flute. I also teach the piano up to grade 5.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
First Class Degree, BMus (Hons) from the Royal Academy of Music, 2012 - 2016.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour, and £25 for half an hour lessons. I also offer a consultation lesson for £15, and discounts per student for group lessons.
- Where do you teach?
I am happy to travel to you, and teach in the comfort of your own home. I can travel to: Brent, City of London, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Richmond upon Thames, Wandsworth and Wimbledon.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible. I can teach weekdays and weekends, and am happy to teach at different times each week. I ask for a 24 hour cancellation notice.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and abilities, from new beginners to an advanced proficiency.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I use the ABRSM syllabus to prepare my students for their examinations. I am also very happy to teach without a syllabus, and tailor lessons to a students' individual learning.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Music enriches our lives - learning to play an instrument such as the flute can be a very fulfilling experience. It can also be a challenge, but a very rewarding challenge, one which can lead to many exciting experiences.
