About Lara
- What kind of experience do you have?
Thankfully, I not only have 14 years of experience as a performer, but given my cultural background (Canadian-Greek-Lebanese) I have had extensive music and workshop experience in several European countries as well as the Middle East. As a performer I have been educated both in classical as well as popular music, performing with the National Youth Choir of Greece in the production of Carmen (1996) which furthered my interest to work with children. I occasionally work with Baby Jazz, a popular London based workshop aimed at performance for toddlers around London. At Guildhall , I have worked frequently with the Creative Arts Center ( Barbican) and have workshopped with students of mixed-education and disability, putting on performances at the Barbican Center . As a performer, I have been a guest artist to Ian Shaw, and have worked with fundraising events with the Southwark Music Services. I feel that my rounded experience makes me a flexible and understanding educator, able to work with everyone whose passion is music, professionally and an amateur level. Furthermore, I am also a recording artist, ( 2 EP's) and have experience with songwriting and recording, which is an added feature to aspiring -singer-songwriters. As a pianist, I can certainly help with singers who wish to accompany themselves.

Yes I do have an enhanced DBS Certificate.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I have trained in my home country of Athens with Karen Solomon (University of Louisiana, MMus), George Argyropolous (Berklee College of Music). I received classical piano tutoring from the Odeo Kodaly Conservatory of Athens. In London I was trained by Katerina Mina , Classical Voice (Guildhall School of Music and Drama); Lee Gibson , Jazz Voice, ( Guildhall School of Music and Drama); Malcolm Edmonstone, (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Ian Shaw (Guildhall School of Music and Drama) ; Liane Carroll, (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Scott Stroman, (Guildhall School of Music and Drama).

Hello! My name is Lara Eidi. I believe a successful musician is one who enjoys what they do. As a singer and songwriter, I find that it is rewarding to challenge yourself to reach your potential as an artist, no matter what level you're at.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist and pop pianist, able to teach singers, singer-songwriters and aspiring self-accompanied pianists to further their careers professionally, and just for fun! I can offer professional contemporary voice and jazz training, as well as self accompaniment for singers, and fun with songwriting!
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I'm grateful for having had music training from the highest calibre. I have received excellent training from the Masters Course in Jazz performance at the Guildhall School of Music, and my experience as a performer allows me to be flexible and energetic in my approach as a teacher. I am most qualified to teach voice,piano for accompaniment as well as extensive experience in young children to professional adults. Having obtained Grade 8 qualifications from the London College of Music at an early age, I am able to train students who wish to sit for Grades 1-8 and UniversityLevel/ Entry popular music exams.
- How much do you charge?
I charge 50 GBP including travel costs at the student's own residence. For group lessons, I charge 30 per hour, with a discount depending on individual situation of students.
- Where do you teach?
I am able to teach at my home, and can travel up to 45 minutes to the students house. I can reach areas as far as West London including W1, W2, as well as North East London Borough of Walthamstow, Enfield. I am very much able to travel towards the City, (Barbican, Shoreditch, Hackney) as well other areas provided they are reachable within 45 minutes approx of travel time.

Monday: 4- 7 pm
Tuesday : 4- 7 pm
Wednesday- 3- 8 pm
Friday - 4- 7 pm
Weekends upon one week prior arrangment
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am able to offer private tuition to students as young as 12 years old to anyone who wishes to sing. Professionally, I can train singers sitting for their Grade exams, as well as University /Entry Level Jazz and Contemporary Vocalists. I can help prepare for auditions, specializing in contemporary singing and Jazz Improvisation.
I can offer singers piano accompaniment and songwriting tips, on an amateur level and up to University level entry. I can cover popular music theory until Grade 8.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am qualified to prepare my students for LCM, ABRSM and Trinity Rock School exams till Grade 8 and A Levels in singing, as well as University level up until year 3.
