Lifei Huang plays like a professional with years of experience behind her. This work gave her ample opportunity to display her strengths – a strong bowing arm, full rich tone on her G-string, ethereal beauty on the E-string and an abandon and virtuosity when required. I am not ashamed to tell you that such was the glory of this performance that I had tears of joy in my eyes throughout. Tonight we heard a star very much in the ascendant and what an auspicious London debut!
Lifei is herself extremely serious and professional in her approach. Each lesson invariably consists of scales and duos and (at least one of) studies and a solo piece. Although there is a lot of time spent on technique, Lifei is constantly stressing the musicality of all the passages. My own job allows me to fully appreciate Lifei's approach to teaching, and I am sure she adapts this quickly when teaching younger adults, or again when coaching children.
I always looked for great musicians to join my musical project and the best one I found is with no doubt Lifei. She understood the deep reasons of my music more than anybody else I played with bringing an unheard , special , meaningful depth to my songs. She is a musician and a poet at the same time , and this the measure of an artist. I assure to whoever is interested in playing with her or have her as a music teacher , that she is patient , capable , serious energetic and pleasant to work with.
