Patience and individual attention enable confidence to grow and children to achieve.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English, Maths and Science and entrance exams including the Kent Test.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a PGCE from Bath Spa University College, a History and Classical Joint Honours Degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an Advanced Certificate in Classroom Management from Christ Church University.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am a practising teacher; currently working with year 6 pupils. I have worked in many local schools, as well as being an experienced tutor of many years standing.
I enjoy tuition immensely - it is such an intense learning experience that is hard to achieve within schools.
Learning can be tailored to the needs of the child and adapted instantly to address gaps in knowledge.
I have helped many children to pass the Kent Test, tutored for Numeracy and Literacy across the Primary age range and even helped a secondary pupil to improve his handwriting in order to pass his exams!
How much do you charge?
I charge £30 an hour, but the first assessment lesson is £25. I would consider group lessons by arrangement, if the pupils were of similar ability.
Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach at home, with my resources around me. I am based on the east side of Canterbury, so easy to reach from both the Herne Bay and Whitstable areas.
When are you available?
I teach after school, from 4pm to 7pm, weekdays only. I can continue to teach during all school holidays, at flexible times.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach Primary aged Children - Key Stage 1 and 2.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for entrance exams.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
