Personal Message
I am a professional tutor, highly qualified and have plenty of experience adapting to the needs of different students, thereby helping them get the very best out of their study time.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I provide tuition for the syllabus of the main examining bodies (AQA, Edexcel and OCR) in both Physics and Maths A Level.
Tell me about your qualifications.
MA in Physics/Electrical Sciences from Cambridge University.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a professional tutor for over seven years and my students throughout that time have given very good feedback about their tutoring experience (see my website or testimonials).

I also work for Leeds University supporting students with disabilities.
How much do you charge?
My hourly teaching rate is £27/hr, and if I am travelling to meet the student there is an additional charge for travel time. I do not charge for initial consultation time.
Where do you teach?
Mostly from my home. I am willing to travel (if diary time permits) to surrounding areas in Leeds, Wetherby and Tadcaster subject to additional time costs.

I can also hold sessions online.
When are you available?
As a professional tutor, my weekdays and evenings are dedicated to teaching. I also work through the school holidays (although I do allow myself a couple of weeks holiday at some point in the year!)
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Any age taking A Levels.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
A Level Physics and Maths.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I conduct online sessions via a combination of Skype or Face Time and an online whiteboard system.

I find online sessions work well when the student has prepared beforehand, so I will email prior work to do a week in advance. We then work together through the session tackling any problems that have arisen.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Institute of Physics
Tell me about some of your current students.
I am working with my current students on the full range of A Level Physics and Maths subject areas, but I also work with them on problem solving, building confidence, exam technique and how to study effectively. In addition, I work with high attainment students looking for that bit extra in their studies if they are considering applying to university to read Physics, Engineering or Maths.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I love my subject: I really enjoy it, and I seek to share that sense of fun. So I always try to create a friendly, positive learning environment, and will do my level best to help you enjoy your studies as you learn.
