I am passionate about Maths and enjoy teaching the subject and hope my enthusiasm rubs off on my students. I feel with good support any student can achieve their full potential.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Maths up to and including GCSE Foundation and Higher.
I also teach students preparing for eleven plus examinations and 13 plus examinations.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have BA (Hons) in Accountancy and Finance as well as a PGCE.
What kind of experience do you have?
I worked as a lecturer at the Blackpool and Fylde College and have taught GCSE Maths.
I also worked as the Maths Lecturer at Fleetwood Nautical College teaching to the Deck Officers and Marine Engineers, teaching up to the level of HND Marine Engineering.
How much do you charge?
The rate on a one-to-one basis is £25 per hour.
If it is group tuition then the rate can be discussed depending on the number of students.
Where do you teach?
I teach from home in Highwoods in Colchester.
When are you available?
I am available on weekdays and the weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach up to the level of GCSE.
I can teach students aspiring to appear for Eleven plus examinations.
I have taught students of varying abilities.
I have taught a 65 year old retired lady to do her Maths GCSE, age is no barrier.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
My experience is in GCSE Maths both Foundation and Higher.
I have taught students who have failed at their first attempt and want to retake.
I have also taught students who have done Foundation and then wanted to do Higher.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Where and with whom did you train?
I qualified with B.A. (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University.
I had obtained my PGCE from Lancaster University.

I have taught at the various campuses of the Blackpool and Fylde College.
Tell me about some of your current students.
Many of my students enjoyed maths so much that after passing GCSE Higher paper went on to do A Level Maths.
One of my students had failed GCSE Maths seven times before being taught by me and was successful on her eight attempt.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am able to understand the difficulties and pitfalls a student may encounter with Maths and would be able to teach and encourage them to be successful in their Maths exams.
