Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an up-to-date Basic Disclosure Certificate. For self-employed independent tutors like myself, this is the only certificate available.
Where and with whom did you train?
My subject knowledge of Maths is due to some exceptionally good teachers who I was lucky enough to be taught by in my school days. Such was the clarity of their teaching that the fundamentals of Maths have remained with me throughout my life. The Maths component of my degree course in Engineering at Cambridge was also demanding and rigorous.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I have recently helped several GCSE students prepare to resit their exams and I have worked with two A level students (one AS level, one A2 level). I have also carried out several ad hoc sessions for both GCSE and A level students to help them prepare for tests or to fill knowledge gaps in their school teaching.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Teaching Maths is something I have wanted to do for a long time, so prospective students can be assured that I have bags of energy, patience and enthusiasm. I really enjoy Maths and would consider it a pleasure to help students reach their goals at A level and GCSE.
