With a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Statistics, a PGCE, and PGC in Business Administration, I have taught Maths, Statistics and Physics to all levels of students for more than 20 years. My teaching is fun-filled and anxiety-free.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Business Studies, University Maths, University Statistics, Critical Thinking, Dissertation/Proofreading, Functional Skills, Study Skills, and MBA
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have BSc (1st Class) and MSc (Distinction) in Statistics (University of Nigeria), a PhD in Statistics (University of Sheffield, UK), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration (Manchester Business School, UK)
What kind of experience do you have?
I have lectured in Statistics, Mathematics and Engineering since 1987, taught Maths, Statistics and Physics as a private tutor for more than 15 years, and served as Cambridge OCR Examiner in Statistics and Critical Thinking for A-Level GCSE.
I am an expert in using accelerated learning principles to teach all subjects in a fun-filled, interactive, and anxiety-free way.
I also coach other tutors in using this approach. Hence, I can help to raise pupils' levels at GCSE from levels 4 to 8 or 9 comfortably, through intense coaching with additional study skills support.
Typically, my students achieve the coveted A and A* results in GCSE and A-Level.
I set a high target of 8-9 for the GCSE pupils and A* for the A-Level students, and motivate them to achieve through patient teaching.
For university students, I almost always enable them to achieve distinctions in coursework and projects, including MSc and PhD research support.
How much do you charge?
- £30/hr for GCSE A-Level Maths and Statistics,
- £35/hr for A-Level Further Mathematics,
- £35/hr for University Entrance preparations,
- £30/hr for Dissertation/Proofreading, Functional Skills, Study Skills and MBA, and
- £35/hr for all higher education/university subjects. I offer some discounts for group lessons such as teaching groups of up to 5 equal-ability pupils together for up to 2 hours, and offering 10-15% discount for learners that stay long-term (more than 50 hours of lessons, for example).
Where do you teach?
I teach mainly at home where all my resources are stored for a more focused learning.
I don't usually travel to teach unless on compassionate grounds when a learner is ill-disposed to come and there is a pressing need to cover a lesson towards an assessment preparation.
When are you available?
All days, morning to afternoon for university students and usually evenings after school for secondary students.
I am flexible and can rearrange times for a learner in good time to suit both of us.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
GCSE (12-13) mainly and 14-18 or more for university students and adult learners.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE, IGCSE O and A Levels (All Exam Boards), University Degrees
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I used to have it as CRB and can obtain the new DBS if need be.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Member of UK Higher Education Academy
Member, Nigerian Statistical Association
Tell me about some of your current students.
They are rated the most successful in their subjects. Firstly, I tutored my three daughters. Chidera made A in Physics and has trained as a nurse in Manchester University UK, now working. Ifeoma made 12 A* and 1 A in GCSE and2 A* and 2 As in A-Level, now studying Medicine at Queen Mary University London. Nk made 7A*, 6As and 1B in GCSE and A* in Maths, A in Biology and A in Chemistry (for the New GCSE) and is currently studying Economics at the University of Nottingham.

I taught Kaseya A-Level Maths, she made a very high B missing out on an A by a whisker and is now studying Chemical Engineering at Edinburgh University. There are several students more.
