Personal Message
I have a very simple motto - "Anything you can do, I can learn to do". I have an excellent track record and success is guaranteed as long as students put in the requisite work.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I primarily teach Maths, Physics and Chemistry to at least GCSE and some areas of A - level. Engineering subjects like electrical and electronics for college students is also available plus the associated maths topics like calculus and trigonometry.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have worked for 40 years in the electronics industry as a design engineer and I have used all the subjects I teach in the real world. This gives me a real advantage when it comes to teaching those subjects to students, as I can put them into a real work context, not just a theoretical concept.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 10 years experience in private tutoring. I have a high success rate and I teach at a level appropriate for each student. Some "get it" quite quickly and others need more time or other methods.
How much do you charge?
Standard rate is £25.00 per hour at all levels. If travel is more than 10 miles I may add a small fee but I can mitigate this by adding a bit of extra tuition time to compensate.
Where do you teach?
I only travel to students' homes or some other agreed meeting place, like school or library or even work place if appropriate and facilities allow.
When are you available?
I am generally available any time during the week from 8.00am till 10.00pm subject to availablility.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach any age and level from about 7yrs upwards.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can teach any grade, up to and including GCSE.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Do you have a personal message for students?
You can do it. You just need the right teacher and the right approach. Half the battle is with yourself - not the subject you are learning.
