In 2012 I graduated University with a Second Upper Class Honours Degree in Education Studies. During University I covered a variety of modules some including; Curriculum Studies of KS2 and Beyond, Early Childhood Studies and Development, Psychological, Social and Emotional Aspects of Teaching and Learning plus Special Needs, Disability and Inclusion.
What kind of experience do you have?
After graduating I then embarked on an International adventure which found me teaching KS1 and KS2 in Thailand for 3 years. Whilst in Thailand I gained my Teaching English as an additional language qualification as well as a teaching practice certificate both awarded by the NCFE. I taught at two International Schools over the three years with subjects including; English in all forms, mathematics, sport, moral education, art, drama and dance.
Following Thailand I then moved on to Australia where I privately tutored my way around the country. I have 4 years experience in private tutoring and have taught students from aged 2-50 years old.
I now teach KS3 and GCSE Maths at a secondary school in Bristol.

Why?
When I started at comprehensive school all those years ago, my parents were contacted by the school and told that I had dyslexia. After several tests and with the support of my parents it turned out that I didn’t have dyslexia at all – I was just merely bored. I then went on to have private English tutoring for 3 years alongside school. This alone, is what inspired me to teach. Education should be fun and I have taken this on as my mission to prove it!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
SATS
GCSE Maths
GCSE English
GCSE History
GCSE Science
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes. I have both my DBS and my International criminal record check from my time in Thailand.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Each child learns at their own pace and each child struggles in their own areas. Maybe your child needs help preparing for their SATS; maybe they need a little extra help with handwriting; maybe it’s reading or maybe they just need support with their homework. I am very flexible and more than happy to adjust to their needs. I can provide a workbook and worksheets or if you have materials you would like us to use then I welcome your input. You know your child better than anyone so I encourage your support.
