Personal Message
I have been teaching accountancy, in all its forms, since 2008. My 25 years of industry experience in both the private and public sector have served well in ensuring I offer a well-rounded, and organised, learning experience.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Financial and management accounting, book-keeping and other accounting related topics. I also teach computerised accounting and payroll.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
A1 Assessors Award
Certificate in Education (UCLAN)
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching in Further and Higher Education since 2008, and have 25 years accounting industry experience in both the public and private sector. I have 4 years experience of assessing. I am currently running my own training provision in computerised accounts and payroll.
How much do you charge?
The fees are dependent upon the level within the qualification, but range between £20 and £25 per hour. There are no additional charges for travel or expenses. Discounts for groups of up to 4 students are available. An example would be the full rate of £25 per person: 2 people £15 each, 3 people £12 each and the maximum of 4 people £10 each.
It should be noted that separate one hour sessions are good, but a block booking of 2 hours or more may give a better return in terms of what can be covered, especially for exam revision sessions.
Where do you teach?
At my training provision site in Liverpool. Whilst I am able to travel to your home, within a 20 mile radius of Liverpool City Centre, I would prefer to offer the tuition at my fully resourced site in Wavertree, Liverpool. This has direct rail links within a short walking distance and a very secure car park. The fee charged would be adjusted to reflect that fact that you have travelled to me.
When are you available?
I am currently quite busy. Each enquiry is dealt with on a one to one basis, with the timing agreed based upon an initial discussion. In the lead up to exam deadlines Saturday mornings 9.30 am to 12.30 pm can be arranged. Flexibility can be built into the timetable should it be needed.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from 18 years old upwards. Due to a high level of demand for the professional accountancy qualifications I have had to withdraw my university accounting support until such time as I have available sessions.

I have a dedicated on-line student study area which will allow students direct access to resources, with speedy feedback options for work submitted on-line.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?

Do you have a personal message for students?
As most colleges are having to increase class sizes to meet targets I have found that in every class there are individuals who need additional time and support. This is not always available. Quite often students who lose their way through lack of attendance, or understanding, find they cannot get back on track. My aim is to ensure the tuition is tailored to the needs of the individual to keep them on track, and achieve success in their qualification, fitting study support in and around their work and home life.
