I've over ten years of professional experience as a performer & teacher of music. I'm a patient & dedicated teacher; I was awarded the LRAM (teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music) with distinction.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach double bass and bass guitar.
Jazz, pop, funk and salsa styles.
I am also available for directing ensembles; I have experience in directing big bands and leading improvisation workshops.

Master of Music, Royal Academy of Music, principal study in jazz double bass.
Bachelor of Music, first class, University of Edinburgh.
Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught classes at the Junior Jazz course at the Royal Academy of Music (course director Nick Smart). I was the musical director of the Imperial College big band for the academic year 2010/11, both rehearsing charts and leading improvisation workshops.

I am an active member of the jazz scene around the UK in numerous small ensembles, including my band 'Badazzbo’, the JJ Wheeler Quintet, Tradicional Cubano, and the Dafydd Williams Township Bigtet. I have toured the UK with big bands and shows, including The Glen Miller Tribute Orchestra, The New Squadronaires, The Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra and The Kings Of Swing.
How much do you charge?
£30 per hour
£25 for 45mins
£17 for 30mins
£100 for 4 x 1 hour
Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach from my home in Highgate, but can travel to students' homes in north London if necessary (additional rates apply).
When are you available?
As a professional musician, my timetable is variable. I usually have spaces on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, as well as weekday daytimes and Saturday mornings.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and levels from beginner to advanced.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
