I have taught GCSE and ‘A’ Level Music and have also been a Head of Music, supporting and developing the careers of newly qualified teachers. I have led many ensembles and choirs and have been Musical Director for countless school productions. I am also a film and media composer and have scored the soundtracks to three feature-length films, several short films and an animated short (you can find me on the IMDb website). The mp3 files attached to my profile have been composed and recorded by me for various film and media commissions.

Where do you teach?
For your convenience, I travel to students' homes to teach. I tutor across Ryedale in North Yorkshire, including Malton and Pickering.
When are you available?
By arrangement. After school and early evenings are fine. I also teach earlier in the day to adult learners and homeschoolers if this is a more suitable time. The bulk of my teaching is at the weekend and the first half of the week. I can also teach during school holidays if required. I provide short-term 'booster' lessons if a longer commitment is not required.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
From ages 4/5 and up subject to a consultation. I teach complete beginners up to intermediate students, including GCSE and 'A' level support.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM piano and theory qualifications. I also support GCSE and 'A' Level students.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
As an 'Incorporated Society of Musicians' (ISM) Registered Private Music Teacher, I hold a DBS/CRB Enhanced Certificate.

Through my website, I provide extra support and resources between lessons. Parents and students have a private login section to access these resources.

Do you have a personal message for students?
Whatever your reason for wanting to make music, I believe it should be fun, creative and enjoyable. Our lives are enhanced and enriched by learning to play an instrument and it also brings joy to those around us.
