Personal Message
It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher. I want to help my students to progress and enjoy making music.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical piano at all levels. I am also happy to take you through the board examinations in theory and practical grades (ABRSM or any other).
Tell me about your qualifications.
I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with BMus (hons) in Classical Piano. I was studying with Joan Havil and Charles Owen. Moreover, I had lessons and advice from such renowned musicians as Martin Roscoe, Ronan O’Hora, Noriko Ogawa, Emanuel Krasovsky and others.
In addition, in my last year at the Guildhall School I went through an extensive teaching course. It involved lectures by:
 Kasia Borowiak (Junior Guildhall; piano teacher on Suzuki method, teaching beginner and intermediate level students);
 Pamela Lidiard (Head of Deputy, GSMD, beginners repertoire);
 Lucy Parham (group learning and observations);
 Shelagh Sutherland (Junior Guildhall, musicianship).
What kind of experience do you have?
I have teaching experience with all abilities and ages and I have worked as a Musician in Residence at several public schools as well as a secondary Teacher of Music up to A-level. As a professional pianist I am confident teaching complete beginners as well as more advanced students. Most of my students pass ABRSM exams with a Merit or Distinction in practical exams as well as theory and also successfully take part in festivals and competitions (i.e.1st and 2nd prizes in Watford Festival 2012; age groups: 6-10, 11-3 and grade 7).
How much do you charge?
My fee is £35 per hour + travel expenses (if you prefer to have piano lesson in the comfort of your own home).
I can offer discounts for students wishing to have longer lessons, friends and siblings.
Where do you teach?
I am based in Bermondsey and teach at my studio.
When are you available?
I am available all Monday - Friday after 5pm and weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Rock School (grade 1-8, diploma and ) But I always try tailor my lessons to individual needs. Even though I believe that having a goal helps students to progress much faster, it doesn't necessarily have to be an exam - choose a piece, arrange a home concert for your friends or find a competition or a festival you want to prepare for - whatever it is I will be there to support and help you.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I am CRB checked.
