Personal Message
Hi there! I am a pianist with 16 years of classical piano training, and teach piano to all ages in Birmingham.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical and pop piano.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a recent graduate pianist from the Birmingham Conservatoire, where I studied under a scholarship. For three years I also studied Piano, composition and Improvisation on Saturdays at the Royal College of Music Junior Department.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have 7 years experience of teaching piano privately, to all ages. Teaching and working with people is one of my greatest passions, so I have also sought to develop relevant skills in different lines of work. I will be starting work as a piano teacher with the Birmingham Music Service from early September.

My other work experiences involve mentoring children at summer camps, volunteering as a phone-line counsellor for a youth support service, shadowing music teachers and organising charity concerts. As a person I am empathetic, patient and friendly, with a positive and encouraging attitude!
How much do you charge?
My rates are:
30 mins: £15
45 mins: £20
60 mins: £25
Where do you teach?
I will be teaching in the Birmingham City Centre area in the Birmingham Central Library.
When are you available?
I am currently out of Birmingham but will be available to teach from September 10th onwards.
Most evenings are suitable, also weekends. My timetable will be more definite from September 10th onwards and will post more specific days/times watch this space!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages, from beginner to advanced (grade 8). I specialise in teaching ages 11-18.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity Grade exams.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Not available for online tutoring yet.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Where and with whom did you train?
Neil Roxburgh, Royal College of Music Junior Dept
David Quigley, Birmingham Conservatoire
Daniel Browell, Birmingham Conservatoire
Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach at 7 schools around Birmingham and at a private piano tuition centre in Coventry. Overall the ages range anywhere from 5 to 60, of all different levels.
Do you have a personal message for students?
My teaching aim is to work to the best of my ability to tailor lessons to the needs and ways of leaning of each unique student. I work to make lessons as fun, interesting, and creative as possible, and I often make my own teaching material. I also will be happy to walk through the ABRSM or Trinity grading system if you wish.
