I have taught biology at all levels since 1984. I have always taught exam groups and so have long experience in preparing students for public examinations.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach biology at GCSE, IGCE, A Level and International Baccalaureate.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a degree in Zoology, BSc Hons from the University of Durham and a PGCE from the same institution.
- How much do you charge?
I generally charge £45 per hour. I am happy to travel if not too far from my home, but would ask for fuel and time costs to cover this. If you persuade a friend to have a lesson with you, then I will charge less for a group of two or more. I know I am not cheap, but I have spent my life perfecting my teaching technique and strategy and I am confident I can make a real difference to anyone needing help with their biology.
- Where do you teach?
I teach from home but will travel to a tutee's home if not too far away. I also do online tuition and have been doing this for a couple of years now. It is very convenient and effective and I am happy to give a free 30 minute trial session for anyone who wants to try an online tutorial.
- When are you available?
I am generally available most afternoons from about 2pm and after school hours. Late afternoon and evening times are also possible. I am willing to work in school holidays by negotiation.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
13 to 18 is my usual age group and at GCSE and A Level or IB.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE, A Level and IB diploma.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I use skype and an online whiteboard - Scribblar.
