One of the many special gifts that Shireen has is the ability to engender such confidence in her students and that confidence enables us to attain a higher level of range, tone, volume and interpretation. I'm very new to the world of Jazz singing but have learned such a lot from Shireen in such a short space of time that I feel I'll soon be ready to sing in public.

I was preparing a song for an audition. After spending only one hour with her, my confidence improved greatly and she was able to advise on technique etc. Shireen made me feel at ease immediately. I was able to approach the audition and sing with composure and my performance was more polished, something I wouldn't have been able to do without her help".

Shireen is an incredibly perceptive and motivating teacher - she clearly sees what's going on when I am singing, not just in the sense of the performance but actually where I am musically with the song, and the meaning, and how it's resonating in my body. To be taught in this way is very inspiring because it reaches deeper and helps me see that I can sing with my whole body, which ultimately enriches my voice and my performance.

When I began my Masters in Music years ago, the university told me to find someone that I wanted to work with one on one. I decided to approach Shireen because of her specialty in Jazz, her knowledge of a variety of styles and her experience as a vocalist. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience. She helped me to feel confident approaching Jazz and I will always be grateful. Shireen is brilliant!
