Personal Message
An experienced musician across classical and jazz music, I take pride in catering lessons to the individual and their personal aspirations - as well as always keeping music fun!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach flute, saxophone and music theory. I also teach jazz on both flute and saxophone!
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently studying for my BMus(Hons) degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I also have a DipABRSM with distinction on flute, and grade 8 jazz saxophone with distinction.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught privately for the last 4 years, both young beginners and adult learners. As well as this, I have extensive experience planning and leading educational workshops in schools and other institutions with my contemporary music ensemble Masque Collective. I study teaching skills as part of my degree.

I have extensive performance experience both as a soloist, part of a chamber group and as part of an orchestra. I also lead a jazz trio and play in a salsa ensemble.
How much do you charge?
I charge £35 per hour, and £20 for half an hour lessons. There may be a small charge for travel by negotiation.
Where do you teach?
I teach primarily at students homes in Haringey and surrounding boroughs such as Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Stoke Newington, The City of London, Camden, Westminster etc. Do contact me to discuss if travel is possible, it probably will be as I study in the City of London so am often very central.
When are you available?
I teach mostly at the weekend, and on weekday evenings.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I will teach any ability and any age! I have taught small children and adults.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall exams (jazz and classical), but this will always be after a discussion with the student about what is their best interests. Learning an instrument has to be fun and fulfilling, and we can do that without the need to take exams if that suits the student better.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Musicians Union.
Where and with whom did you train?
I am currently training at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Ian Clarke, Sarah Newbold, Christopher Green (piccolo) and Gareth Lockrane (jazz). I also study saxophone with Nick Moss.
