I specialise in teaching classical singing but teach singers of all genres.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Bmus(Hons) degree from the Royal Northern College of Music.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching for over ten years both privately and in schools and music centres. I have taught students of all ages and abilities, preparing them for exams and auditions or just for fun.

I still perform professionally both in the UK and abroad and have recently had a contract with English National Opera with another coming up this summer.

Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare my students for ABRSM exams up to grade 8 and then onto diplomas. I also prepare student's for auditions for university and conservatoire courses.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have a fully up to date Enhanced DBS certificate. I teach in two schools so have also undertaken all of the relevant and up to date child protection and safety and training.
I undergo annual refresher courses to keep fully up to date with all aspects of the awareness needed to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
I began singing as a chorister at St.Paul's Cathedral.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a wide range of students all with different goals and covering a wide range of standards. For some lessons are about looking towards a future career in singing and for others it is about building confidence with goals such as joining a local church choir or group.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I believe in establishing a firm basic technique in singing that sets the singer up to be able to perform in any genre they choose, allowing them to develop naturally and safely as their voice grows. The most important thing is that students enjoy the lessons whilst progressing and growing in confidence.
