Personal Message
Graduate of Royal Academy of Music with 1st class Hons. I have taught privately for the past 8 years and teach guitar/lead a jazz ensemble in two London Secondary schools.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Electric/Jazz Guitar (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Motown)
Double Bass/ Electric Bass (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Motown)
Tell me about your qualifications.
I received a Bmus Hons 1st class degree from the Royal Academy of Music in Jazz performance in 2014. This course entailed an in depth study of jazz improvisation, composition, reading, ear training and ensemble playing. In the final year of this course I received the Richard Turner Prize.

Since leaving the Academy I won the Young European Jazz Artists Award in Berghaussen and since this I have recorded two albums of original material.
What kind of experience do you have?
From February 2015 I taught at Highbury Grove school, leading a jazz ensemble made up of 11-18 year olds who were gifted at music and took this group on tour across south Germany in February 2016 to perform concerts with other schools. From June 2017 I have taught at Bishop Thomas Grant School specialising in guitar studies and leading the school jazz ensemble.

I have now been teaching private students for 8 years and I am experienced in teaching in a way that fits individuals, whether it be from beginners to advanced in Guitar, Double Bass, and Electric Bass. Stylistically I teach Jazz and Pop/Rock.
How much do you charge?
I charge £40 an hour.
Where do you teach?
I teach at home and/or students' houses. I am willing to travel to anywhere within London zones 1-4 but will charge for travel if not in SE london.
When are you available?
All days of the week.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and all levels welcome!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have prepared students for taking Rock School grades and also have prepared students for Music Conservertoire auditions such as Royal Academy of Music and Purcell School of Music.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes as I worked at Highbury Grove Saturday School from February 2015, and currently work at Bishop Thomas Grant School (from 2017).
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musicians union.
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied music (Jazz Performance) at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated with 1st class Hons degree in 2014.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am well experienced in teaching and am a gigging professional musician. I can draw upon these performances to aid my teaching with relevant musical exercises and practical advice for ensemble playing to anyone of all ages and abilities.
