Personal Message
I am an enthusiastic tutor of GCSE Chemistry and Biology. I have a PhD & BSc (1st class) in Chemistry, & passed a university Cell Biology course. I have experience tutoring GCSE students.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am a Tutor of Chemistry (GCSE) and Biology (GCSE). I am happy to tutor children (KS4 level) or adults.
I am enthusiastic about chemistry and biology and about teaching these to students. I am enthusiastic and enjoy helping people.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a chemistry PhD and a chemistry degree (BSc, First Class), both from Nottingham University. I also have recently achieved a Grade 2 Pass (71%) in a detailed, university-level Cell Biology course from the Open University.
I also have an MSc in Intellectual Property Law (Distinction) from QMW College, London University. I am also a qualified European and UK patent attorney, and a qualified European design attorney.
I have additional scientific experience from my studies and from time worked in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience tutoring Chemistry and Biology GCSE / International GCSE.
I also have experience with teaching intellectual property law to trainee patent attorneys and scientists in my previous jobs working as a qualified European and UK patent attorney.
How much do you charge?
£24 / hour for GCSE Chemistry and Biology.
Where do you teach?
I travel by car and I teach in the student's home, face-to-face.
When are you available?
Available daytime (10am to 5pm) on Monday to Wednesday, and on Friday.
Available evenings (5pm to 10pm) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. (I may also be available on some Tuesday evenings.)
Also available on Saturdays at 2pm-10pm and on Sundays at 3pm-10pm.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
GCSE students (Years 10-11).
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE, International GCSE.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I do not have a DBS or CRB check at the moment, but this can be obtained if requested.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
As a qualified European and UK patent attorney, I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) & a member of the European Patent Institute (epi).
Do you have a personal message for students?
Work hard and consistently for much of the academic year before your final exams, and allow yourself about 6-8 weeks of intensive revision (and doing past papers) before your GCSE exams, and you should improve your results.
