Personal Message
I first started learning to play brass instruments at the age of eight and at the hands of Mrs Margaret Douglas. Since then I have gone on to enjoy a very successful career in music, playing with many of the countries leading professional orchestras.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all brass instruments, and also conduct different school ensembles in the area.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied at the RNCM and recieved a 1st Bmus (Hons). After this I dedicated my life to performing and teaching. I am fully DBS checked (details available upon request) and have many different types of child safeguarding and health and safety certificates.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have performed around the world in many of the countries leading orchestras, as well in a more experimental pop / jazz band. As an educator, I have toured the country delivering musical and scientific workshops with a company called Education Group. I currently hold two teaching posts, one at the Leys School in Cambridge, where I also conduct the brass ensemble and at Haslingfield Primary School.
How much do you charge?
There are four different durations of lessons. For absolute beginners: 20 minutes - £11. Intermediate (Grade 2 - 5): 30 minutes - £16. Experienced: (Grade 5-8) 45 minutes - £23
Professional (Grade 8 and above) 60 minutes - £32

I am able to teach at the Leys in Cambridge, outside of school hours and also in Fulbourn in a rented rehearsal space.
