Graduate of the RNCM, based in Manchester, I teach all brass instruments (excluding French Horn), music theory and beginner piano.

Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BMus (hons) from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) where I studied performance as a Tuba Player.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am currently tutor of low brass at Bolton School Boys Division, I also work as a brass tutor in the Cheshire West and Cheshire area.

As well as being a music tutor, I am also active within the music profession as a freelance Tuba player and conductor. As a Tuba player, I have worked with many Orchestras and large ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra, the Cyprus symphony orchestra, the Brighouse and Rastrick Band and the Black Dyke Band.

As a conductor, I hold principle conductor positions with the North Cheshire Wind Orchestra, the Warrington Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Wirral Schools Brass Band. I have also worked as a guest conductor with the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra and the Wigan Youth Orchestra. In September 2017, I will undertake a conducting roll with the Leeds College of Music Wind Orchestra.
How much do you charge?
Lessons are £30 hour for individual lessons and £18 pupil/hour for group lessons.
Where do you teach?
I am based in Manchester and can teach at home or can travel to near by towns such as Bolton, Stockport, Sale and Altrincham.
When are you available?
During term time, I am available on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. During school holidays I am slightly more flexible.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels on Brass instruments, beginner - Grade 3 piano and Grade 1-5 music theory.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM 'Medals'- Grade 8 Brass, 'Medals'-Grade 3 piano and Grade 1-5 music theory.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I have a full, up-to-date DBS certificate.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music under Brian Kingsley, Robin Haggart and Ewan Easton.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I am currently teaching a number of students at all levels. This year, my students have had exam successes in Grade 5 Tenor Horn, Grade 4, 6 and 7 Tenor Trombone. I also have a number of pupils waiting to sit Grade 1 Trumpet and am currently teaching a tuba player who is hoping to sit her DipABRSM Diploma.
