About MIRIAM
I have 17 years teaching experience, as well as several years experience as an A level examiner for OCR. I have a high success rate (many students achieving As and A*s). My experience as an examiner helps me to advise students on exam technique. Having taught a wide variety of students, I am able to find suitable explanations of difficult concepts that the student can understand. I have taught small groups as well as one-to-one. I have worked for various tutoring agencies, and saturday schools, in the past.
I have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate/
I tailor my teaching style to each student's learning style. This helps to maximise the quality of each lesson for the student.
Many of my past students have achieved A/A* in their maths exams, and many have gone on to study at leading universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Leeds, UCL, members of the Russell Group and various medical schools.
I have taught students from many local schools and colleges, including Latymer School, Ashmole Academy, Alexandra Park School, Fortismere School, Southgate College, Woodhouse 6th form College, St Michael's Catholic School, The Mount and Westminster School. I have helped many students get the grades they need to go on to study Medicine at university.
I am currently helping to prepare several students for the 11+ entrance exam to Latymer School in Edmonton, North London.
I helped an International Baccalaureate student improve her grade and she gained entrance to the university of her choice.
I helped a Birkbeck, University of London, student with their "Quantitative Techniques for Financial Engineering course
I helped a student with the maths elements of the first year of their degree in Economics at University College, London
I helped a Russell Group university student with their Third Year Group Theory course.
I have helped several students with their Open University degrees in mathematics.

I normally tutor at my home between Wood Green and Palmers Green. I am available 9am to 9pm, all days, including weekends and holidays, but availability will depend on other students. I have experience of teaching students with learning challenges, such Dyslexia and students with Autism.
Entrance exams can be daunting for young children, so I aim to try to build up their confidence, and to help them to fell more comfortable with the challenge. I try to adapt my teaching style to the student's learning style. The first lesson will often be an assessment of the student. Then we may commence working through the Bond books or other recommended books, practising the questions which will appear in the tests.

At first I was having trouble with maths and found it to be my hardest subject. However, after I finished my A2 exams, my highest grade was in maths, and it helped me get into university. She was a very kind and helpful teacher, and I found the teaching very useful and detailed!
I was very happy with the way Miriam taught me. She demonstrated extraordinary patience in explaining and re-explaining concepts I found hard to grasp. Her kindness and pleasant demeanour meant I always felt comfortable and relaxed around her no matter how stressed I was about my studies. She effectively guided me throught the theoretical side of each unit, and also covered their practical applications in exam questions. I am very glad I found her when I did.
Miriam has been a very good and patient tutor. She has improved my mathematics knowledge and grades. I think she is very adaptable and can fit her knowledge to any challenge. She understands many ways of giving information. I believe to teach a foreigner Mathematics is very difficult but she never gave up. She would be a very good tutor for anybody.
Miriam was unfailingly positive, patient and encouraging with my often difficult teenager, who was very much helped by her.
Miriam has greatly helped me in A level maths, where I got 88 in C1, 95 in C2, 78 in C3, 96 in C4, 81 in S2 and 100 in S1. In have been taught by Miriam from AS level up until the end of A2. I feel she has allowed me to grasp difficult maths concepts, topics and exam questions. She was always patient, polite and respectful, allowing me to enjoy the lessons. I would highly reccommend Miriam to anyone who is looking for maths tuition, and cannot thank her enough!
Miriam has helped me understand better concepts and ideas I was struggling with in maths. As a result I achieved a B in C1 and S1, which looked out of my reach before getting Miriam's help. She interacted well with me to understand what was holding me back so I could improve. Miriam has been a pleasure to work with and I look forward to further tuition from her in the future.
I havd had Miriam as my maths tutor for over 3 years now and I love working with her. I have recommended her to friends as I believe she is a great mathematician as well as being very inspriring. The methods she uses are great and easy to understand and what's more is, they are exactly what is required by the exam boards. The one on one sessions are great for catch up on the exact areas I do not feel confident on, and you can always choose the pace at which the lessons go.
My son was tutored in A level maths by Miriam for approximately 6 months. During this short period. Miriam made a huge difference to my son's final grade and I would certainly recommend Miriam to any parent or student who needs to improve their maths standard. Without a doubt, Miriam has the ability to teach/tutor to a very high standard.
Miriam helped me immensely to achieve an A grade in the OCR Additional Maths Qualification. I was feeling quite despondent prior to her teaching but she really helped to build up my confidence and knowledge. I really enjoyed Miriam's hands-on approach to tackling problems and understanding concepts. Overally, I found her teaching extremely useful and would definitely recommend her to a friend!
