Personal Message
I'm a young professional violinist & violist, teaching privately & at St Mary's Music School. I also
perform with orchestras including BBCSSO & RSNO. An enthusiastic and friendly teacher, with an approach tailored to each student.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin and viola, as well as chamber music and music theory lessons.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BA in Music from Oxford University (2:1), and an MMUS from the Royal Northern College of Music (Distinction).
What kind of experience do you have?
As well as over ten years private teaching experience, I currently teach at St Mary's Music School on Saturday mornings. I also taught at Chetham's - a specialist music school in Manchester for three years, as well as teaching on various orchestral courses and chamber music courses for both adults and children.
How much do you charge?
I charge £32 per hour, and £25 for 45 minutes lessons (recommended for primary school children).
Where do you teach?
I teach from home.
When are you available?
I teach most days as I have a flexible work schedule.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I enjoy teaching all ages and abilities.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I leave this very much up to the student, but am happy to prepare students for ABRSM exams if they wish. I also like to organise concerts for my students as performing is such an important part of learning.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an enhanced DBS check through St Mary's Music School.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musicians Union.
Where and with whom did you train?
Whilst at Oxford University, I studied in London with Remus Azoitei from the Royal Academy of Music, and then with Maciej Rakowski at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
