I'm a very enthusiastic teacher, teaching all ages and levels through an individual based method depending on the student’s personality and interests.
I encourage students to discover their instrument through the different paths of sound, posture, intonation and interpretation. I also include music theory in the lessons.

In 2014 I was an intern for the First String Experience class at the junior department of the Royal Academy of Music.
As a big believer of music education, I founded my own music school, called Marie De Bry Arts Academy. The Academy offers students of all ages and levels instrument lessons at their home or online. For more information, please check (concealed information)

My two children (aged 7 and 10) and I started learning the violin from scratch over a year ago with Marie De Bry: she comes to our house once a week and gives us three lessons in a row (one lesson each). So I have had the pleasure of watching her teach three absolute beginners of different ages – and very different personalities! From the start, I was struck by how much Marie “got” each of us individually and how well she understood the kind of feedback that each of us needed in order to progress. She tailors her methods and her communication style to each person, which works really well both for the violin practice and for the music theory and sight-reading practice. For instance: the more restless and mentally dispersed amongst us were given the focus of an early concert to play at (which worked!); the more cerebral amongst us were instructed to try playing with our eyes closed and "listen to the sound in the four corners of the room". Marie has nurtured our love for the instruments, which means that we are making really good progress and enjoying the process enormously. She is an absolutely outstanding teacher, as well as being super reliable, friendly, punctual and committed. Starting these violin lessons with Marie De Bry is one of the best things we have ever done as a family. We are getting the benefits both of a thoroughly structured and precise course that covers theory and practical learning and of a very engaging and positive teacher. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
